Where is my seat located?

All subscribers are invited to join us for an Open House, which will be held on March 3rd. We understand that your schedules vary, so we have designed the event to take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. You are welcome to come at your leisure.

Our General Director, Kevin Patterson, will also be hosting a Q&A session at 6:00 and again at 7:30 during the Open House. This will be an opportunity for all ALO subscribers to ask Kevin any questions concerning our 2007/2008 season or the new Long Center for the Performing Arts. If you would simply like to meet Kevin, feel free to stop by after the Q&A session as well.

What if I arrive at the opera late?

If you find yourself arriving late to the opera, LCPA offers live video feed screens of the opera in each of the lobbies. If possible, the ushers will work with you to get you to your seat at an appropriate moment in the performance. Patrons who need to exit the auditorium during the performance will be admitted back into the theatre at intermission.

May I bring my camera or camcorder to an ALO performance?

The photographing or sound recording of performances without the written permission of Austin Lyric Opera is prohibited by law.

What is the age limit for your performances?

Operas often contain mature themes and adult situations. We recommend that children under the age of six not attend the performances. Patrons wishing to bring young children are encouraged to check with Dianne Van Hulle in the box office for additional guidance.

Are there special facilities or services for patrons with disabilities?

Wheelchair accessible seating is available in all price categories for all operas. ALO's staff will also be onsite during all performances to help anyone that needs special assistance. Patrons with disabilities may choose to enter the Long Center for the Performing Arts through the lower lobby located to the doors left of the box office.

For our hearing impaired patrons, we offer an infrared hearing system. Please see an ALO usher before each performance to pick up a headset. No reservations are required.

For our visually impaired patrons, we offer audio commentary at all Thursday night performances.
