Now in its second year, ARIA provides Austin's Young Professional community (ages 21 - 40-something) with an alternative way to meet new people, network, learn more about the art form and have fun. Before each Saturday night performance, ARIA hosts a lively reception that features special guests sharing insights into the production. Great food and wine put you in the mood to see opera at its finest. ARIA is affordable and innovative. Membership is only $125, and includes one season ticket for Saturday night performances and invitations to all the receptions. In addition, ARIA members receive all the benefits of a regular subscriber, from special invitations to social and educational events, to hot news items, to discounts on single ticket purchases. As a membership organization, ARIA has a requirement of 20 volunteer hours per year, dedicated to expanding the company's marketing and outreach efforts. The ARIA "Street Team" provides help sending out email notices, putting up posters and flyers, calling friends to encourage attendance at the opera and delivering special ticket packages to area businesses. It's all a great way to make a contribution to the Opera and have a blast doing it.
