triangle on stage
Austin Lyric Opera's innovative Triangle on Stage program has been providing outreach activities to the Gay & Lesbian community for 15 years. With a membership of over 130, the Triangle on Stage is a pioneer in the world of opera. Triangle on Stage hosts an event before each production that provides an opportunity to meet new people while learning more about opera in an intimate setting. Directors, designers and singers give the program a fully-rounded experience that goes far beyond the actual performance. The program produces an annual recital to raise funds for the Joe McClain Scholarship Fund to help students attend ALO’s Armstrong Community Music School. There are no membership fees for Triangle on Stage. Events are on a pay-as-you-come basis. But to be a member, you MUST purchase a season subscription. Since 1997, Triangle on Stage has generated more than $1 million for Austin Lyric Opera through ticket sales, donations, and scholarships. The program is vibrant and growing, and welcomes new members from the inexperienced to the opera literate.
To help make opera accessible to everyone, the Triangle on Stage offers FIRST YEAR SUBSCRIBERS ONLY a 50% discount on season tickets.
