Dear Friends and Patrons,

Welcome to Austin Lyric Opera’s brand new website!  We hope our new site will make it easier for you to discover more about ALO’s activities, both on the main stage and throughout Austin.  From dynamic education programs to exciting community groups and fantastic special events, ALO is proud to be a part of the vibrant creative environment that makes Austin so unique.

The next show in our 2012-13 Season is Mozart’s beloved The Marriage of Figaro, filled with mischievous schemes, masquerades and mistaken identities.  Our season finishes in April with the dramatic Faust—Gounod’s powerful tale of the ultimate struggle between good and evil—as an aging scholar abandons all virtue in a pact with the Devil himself, in reckless pursuit of youth and love.  There are still tickets available to both productions, so be sure and get yours today.

We have also just announced our exciting 2013-14 Season, which begins in November with Don Carlo, Verdi’s epic tale of passion and strained family loyalties.  ALO will be presenting Don Carlo for the first time in the company’s history, in celebration of the bicentennial of Verdi’s birth (November 16, 21, 24, 2013).  The season continues with Tosca, Puccini’s explosive drama, returning to the Austin stage for the first time since the 2004 (January 30, February 1, 2, 2014).  Finally, Donizetti’s intoxicating comedy, The Elixir of Love, closes the season in another ALO premiere (May 1, 3, 4, 2014).  There are many convenient ways to subscribe to our coming season – by phone, fax, mail, online – or you can visit the renewal table located on the Orchestra Level during one of our upcoming performances, where ALO staff will be happy to assist you.

We are so glad you took the time to visit our new site and look forward to seeing you at the opera!

Sincerely,

Joseph Specter
